Compact device with a cap to protect the UBS connection. Small enough to be kept in a pocket ready to be used anywhere. Plugged in and without further ado was ready to use. The laptop, used in this case, has a horrible tinny sound through its own speaker which completely "killed" the music. The additional external speakers did improve slightly the sound quality. But now, once connected, when playing Baroque music, it is like as if day has broken through the night. The rich mellow instrumental sound with all its inflections and colours can be heard. My only regret was not to have acquired it earlier. Would I recommend it? Without hesitation: DEFINITELY.
